Advertising & Promotions
DollarsFromSense.com (A&P)
February 2007- Present
Project Manager: TBA
|
What is it? Working alongside a Miami professor and his government grant from the FINRA, Gamma Gamma is promoting a website on a national scale to educate college graduates on financial success. This project is one of the largest undertakings the chapter has seen in terms of resources and revenue. We will work to create a marketing plan for Miami’s campus and outsource opportunities for other PSE chapters to create an individualized campaign for their campuses.
What are we doing now? In the last steps of this lengthy endeavor, with the help of our client we are finalizing the route we will take to advertise DFS on a national level. |
$2 T-Shirt Tuesdays
First Event Occurred: April 2008
Project Manager: Phil Paquette
|
What is it? The business model is fairly simple—work to give our members a 360 degree idea of what it takes to conceive a marketing idea and execute it shortly thereafter. In the case of the $2 project, we have succeeded once in a partnership with Skippers Bar selling out of 100 college-humoresque shirts in less than 5 minutes. Granted, the price is $2, but the idea of numerous walking billboards tickles the fancy of many business owners uptown. The client fronts between $600-700 for the shirts and we capture the profit of $2*100. Ultimately, we are looking for experience over profit in this reoccurring project.
What are we doing now? Uptown businesses love this idea—we’ve already locked down a part II which will take place in September 2008. This time we’ll be applying our promotional abilities to improving the revenue of la Bodega. Game time is set for mid-September…we’ll keep you posted! |
College Discount Cards
April – May 2008
Project Manager: Phil Paquette |
What is it? Otherwise known as the DuBois Card, this promotional tool offers businesses the chance to advertise their establishments and specials, while simultaneously offering students the chances to save money. Through a strategic partnership with College Discount Cards, GG was able to get our logo and website on the front of this card which will be passed out to over 10,000 students.
What are we doing now? Currently, our organization is looking to pass out this advantageous plastic to students during the first couple of weeks of classes. |
CampusMenus.com
August – Septemeber 2008
Project Manager: TBD |
What is it? Refreshing a longtime partnership with CampusMenus.com, GG will promote the uptown drinking and dining website during the fall of 2008. In the past, Gamma Gamma has offered our client the most hits of any campus in the country; we intend on maintaining this level of excellence as we promote the site on campus.
What are we doing now? Having just signed the contract, we are developing game plan that we will be implementing very soon. |
Sales
Unlimited Promotions
Ongoing
Project Manager: Tara Korthels
|
What is it? In the past semester, the chapter has focused on creating an improved campus-wide awareness of UP and the savings potential versus, say, some other Oxford promotional company that rhymes with ‘Soonshine.’ With a promotional push on campus, the belief amongst the chapter is that we will capture record sales, especially when it comes time for large Greek and intramural orders, not to mention Green Beer Day.
What are we doing now? Continuing to take advantage of each opportunity, UP is posting commission numbers sure to give last year’s record a run for its money. |
Market Research
DollarsFromSense.com (Market Research)
October 2007-Present
Project Manager: Casi McClellan
|
What is it? Working alongside a Miami professor and his government grant from the FINRA, Gamma Gamma will conduct market research (completely separate from the A&P effort) on the DollarsFromSense website. More specifically, through online surveys, Gamma Gamma will collect information on the usage of the site as well as the benefits of interactive learning.
What are we doing now? In an effort to quantify the success of the website and investigate the experience of the user, a number of surveys have been written and placed on the site. Still waiting on the approval of the client and his associates, we look to finishing this project’s last step.

todosU
February 2008- Present
Project Manager: Matt Gassner |
What is it? todosU offers a fantastic opportunity for student organizations on Miami’s campus to communicate with its members via text. With a user-friendly online interface, leaders of organizations can send messages to members anytime they would like as a reminder, promotion, schedule change, etc..
What are we doing now? After pitching the idea to Miami’s Associated Student Government, todosU will enter a trial period for Fall 2008. Hopefully the student body will embrace this communication opportunity

P&G Equity Study
August – October 2008
Project Manager: TBA |
What is it? In an effort to gauge knowledge and interest of students in regard to Procter & Gamble, GG will develop and execute market research tools. This project requires a larger lens and as a result, GG will outsource research to other P&G-preferred PSE chapters.
What are we doing now? While the execution is in sight, at the moment GG is creating a team to take on the task while also starting the market research planning process.. |
