Six representatives from Gamma Gamma went to the Oxford Senior Center on Thursday, April 26th in order to help run the Senior Center’s first ever Spaghetti Dinner. The evening was filled with door prizes, great music, and of course delicious pastas and desserts. Our membership helped sell dinner tickets, cleared tables, conversed with the attendees, and conquered a huge pile of dirty dishes. Gamma Gamma loved volunteering with the Senior Center and is going to look into future volunteer opportunities with this organization.
Tori Fitzmartin says, “ It was a very rewarding experience and a great chance to reach out to the community in a fun way!”

Gamma Gamma assembled a team of six members to do a long term market research project for Rockfish Interactive, a digital innovation agency dedicated to helping their clients revolutionize their communications, their brands, and their businesses.
The three-month project was lead by project manager Mary Dieglio and the team consisted of Allie Engelhart, Daniela Pierre, Rory Billing, Nick Perry, and Shelby Copenhaver.
The project team researched how brands successfully partner with startup companies. They began by researching examples of big brands that partnered with consumer goods and retail startups so that they could discover trends and patterns. After compiling the research they pinpointed aspects of these successful relationships and then categorized each of their startups by their growth stages. This allowed the team to identified pros and cons of partnering with startups at certain times in their development.
Team member Allie Engelhart said, “This project has been an unbelievable experience! I learned so much about the complex world of entrepreneurship that I didn’t know before. Working with Dave Knox was also great experience and the constant twists he added to the project kept our process interesting and beneficial. I’m really proud of our result and enjoyed working with my team members.”
The team presented to Rockfish representatives on Tuesday, May 1st in Cincinnati. They put together an impressive presentation and provided Rockfish with a 53 page report outlining their 23 case studies, successful trends and patterns, pros and cons based on the startups stage classifications, and more.
Dave Knox said, “"Rockfish was really excited to work with PSE. We asked the team to look into examples of startup/brand partnerships. They really brought this to life by compiling a comprehensive report of 23 different partnership case studies. We were impressed with their extensive research, understanding of the topic, and presentation overall. We are excited to utilize their findings to continue the success of Rockfish Brand Ventures."
The team was very proud of their accomplishments and project manager Mary Dieglio said, "This project was a first for PSE: new client, new objective, new scope. It had a much more entrepreneurial basis than most PSE projects and was definitely much more open-ended, and though that made it difficult at times, it's also what made it so cool. Through the individual research and interviewing company representatives, we all learned alot about the defining factors in successful startup/brand partnerships. After 3 solid months of strenuous work, we compiled our findings into a comprehensive report and presented to the Rockfish team. They were so impressed, and that made it all worth every minute!"
This project was a great experience for the team and Gamma Gamma as a whole. We look forward to working with Rockfish in the future!

Talk about impressive—this general member has shown everybody up this semester! When she wasn't fulfilling her duties on Recruitment Committee, Welcome Day Committee, PR committee, Cabaret Night, Spring Ice Dinner as PM, the Rockfish project, Quiz Bowl, and personally raking in over 1,000 COG points, Allie Engelhart has worked extensively with VP of PR Colten Kidwell to conduct a PSE Gamma Gamma brand study here on campus. Working with Dr. McCarthy, Allie helped create the survey for the study by using word association questionnaires. Without Allie's help, this study would not have been completed by the end of the semester. Furthermore, Allie took her role on the PR committee to an even higher level by providing comprehensive, unprecedented coverage of the New Member Project. Check out the new "New Member" tab on the website to see all of her hard work. If this isn't a future PSE leader, then they just don't exist.
