GG's Historical Summary:

Pi Sigma Epsilon, founded on May 14, 1952, is the only national professional fraternity in marketing, sales, management, and selling. The first Executive Director of Pi Sigma Epsilon, Lewis F. Gordon developed the fraternity to include 47 chapters before his retirement in 1969. In 1974, women were admitted into the fraternity, thus making it co-ed. To date, Pi Sigma Epsilon has served over 45,000 collegiate members along with many professional members. Currently, there are 46 chapters nationwide.

The Gamma Gamma chapter, located at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, was founded in 1975 by Professor Ed Simpson. After spending the first 16 years growing and developing as a chapter, Gamma Gamma emerged into national competition when it was awarded the President’s Award for Most  Improved Chapter in 1993. For the past twelve years, Gamma Gamma has reached Gold standing in the Chapter Efficiency Index. The chapter won its first Lewis F. Gordon Top Chapter Award in 1998. Since then Gamma Gamma has been named Top Chapter eight times in the past eleven years.

The Gamma Gamma chapter is a proud member of the North Central Region and has focused a great deal of effort on the development and unification of the region. In 2002-2003, the chapter facilitated the rechartering of the Epsilon Mu chapter at the University.of Cincinnati. These efforts continued in 2004-2005 when Gamma Gamma facilitated the chartering of the Epsilon Omicron chapter at Indiana University. Gam- ma Gamma continues its support of the Epsilon Mu chapter by speaking with the executive board of the chapter and providing guidance. Gamma Gamma has continued its efforts in 2010-2011 by communicating with the University of Akron, the University of Cincinnati, Baylor University, The Ohio State University, and the University of Toledo.

There are approximately 15,000 Miami University undergraduate students, approximately one third of which are in the Farmer School of Business. At Miami, Pi Sigma Epsilon is the third largest student organization and affiliates itself with many of the university's

300+ other organizations. The Gamma Gamma chapter has a strong reputation both on the Miami University campus and in the surrounding Oxford com- munity. Pi Sigma Epsilon has twice been recognized as Miami's "Premier Student Organization" and has been the feature student organization in the Miami Recensio, the university's yearbook.

Within the university, the chapter has a strong working relationship with the Farmer School of Business (FSB) and the Associated Student Government (ASG). Each year the chapter partners with the FSB on a variety of campaigns both professional and charitable in focus. This year Gamma Gamma has placed a specific emphasis in aiding the FSB through the continuation of its Executive Speaker Series, assistance with the Jumpstart Internship Panel event, and continued involvement with the FSB 'ComMUnity Initiative'
